From next Saturday, for 30 consecutive days, Doug Aitken’s project Station to Station: A 30 Day Happening, takes over the Barbican Centre in the City of London with more than 100 free events over 30 days, with special ticketed events every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

This 30 day event has been dubbed a ‘living exhibition’, bringing together leading international and UK-based artists from the world of contemporary art, music, dance, graphic design and film in a jam-packed programme. Big names in the Barbican’s line up include Jeremy Deller, Tacita Dean, Juergen Teller, Mike Figgis and Bob and Roberta Smith amongst many others.

No two days will be the same, with rehearsals, performances and conversations in the Art Gallery, vinyl records being pressed, immersive yurt installations in the Barbican Centre’s outside spaces and a new interactive digital laser commission in the Curve.
