Have to give a mention to one of my favourite places, Craft Central, who are having one of their biannual Made in Clerkenwell: Open Studios this coming weekend as part of London Craft Week.
Craft Central is home to over 100 designers who between them represent every kind of arts, crafts and design you can think of. Ready-to-wear fashion designers, jewellers, milliners, ceramicists, printmakers, woodworkers, metalworkers, illustrators and more throw open the doors to their studios and let the public in to see and buy their work.
Craft Central is based in two quirky Victorian studio buildings in the heart of Clerkenwell, one on Clerkenwell Green the other just 2 mins walk up the road on St John’s Square in the shadow of the medieval St John’s Gate. You can walk around the buildings popping into any of the studios that take your fancy. The designers/makers are there to chat to and it’s all very laid back and relaxed. And buying direct from the maker is so much more affordable too.

Admission: £3 (under 16’s free).
This fee supports Craft Central’s charitable aims and includes re-admission to both buildings.
